an intermediate skier wanting to progress or simply a bit rusty? We’d
be delighted to recommend and arrange ski tuition for you and your
party during your stay with us at Chalet Chovettaz. Alas, the actual
cost of the ski and snowboarding lessons is not included in the price
of your holiday but our assistance is free!
L’Ecole du Ski Français
is an internationally known training agency with
two offices in Les Contamines, 70 instructors (male and female)
and a whole range of ski tuition programmes on offer. Lessons are
available in several languages including English and 9 certified
High Mountain Guides are also on the staff. Our personal contact with the ski school ensures that our clients receive the best service.

These instructors were born on skis, are rigorously trained and
know how to get the best from you. And remember, they’ve seen
it all before!
An alternative choice is L’Ecole de Ski Internationale with a local office in Les Contamines and instruction available
for all levels. Specialist tuition in free-style skiing, off piste
adventures and carving can also be arranged. Group lessons are limited
to a maximum of 10 skiiers (€8 per hour) with semi-private
and individual lessons (€30 per hour) also available.
For professional ski services other than traditional lessons,
both the ski schools and the Bureau de Guides can
arrange off-piste guides at around €55 per person per day or
€35 per person per half-day.
 The Vallee Blanche is an adventure not to be missed
and we are perfectly placed to enjoy this fantastic experience here
in Les Contamines. It is an unforgettable experience for any reliable
intermediate skiier with good control and the right gear in the
company of a qualified guide, available from the village. Depending
on snow conditions, you can ski from the Aiguille du Midi at 3842m
back to Chamonix over crevasses and glaciers. It’s spectacular
and challenging day’s skiing.
Also through the ski schools and mountain guide offices, accompanied
snow shoeing trips cost around 18 euros per person per half day
and invaluable 3 hour sessions focusing on « Snow Knowledge
» can be arranged from 18 euros per person.
